This is an important question. How much are you willing to invest in your new bathroom? It is helpful if you’re comfortable discussing this with your designer. He or she can guide you to choices that will respect your budget. If any of you watch “Say Yes to the Dress” on TLC, it’s one of the first questions they ask: “what is your budget?” It’s not so they can charge more for the dress, it’s so they will show options that will be a good fit. If a bride has a $2,500 budget, showing her a $25,000 dress will only lead to disappointment. Bathroom remodeling is not that different. The selections you make on toilets, showers, bathtubs, countertops, flooring, sinks and cabinets have a big impact on the cost of your bathroom remodel. To that point, I recommend you think about the types of selections you would like. Is a granite countertop the only thing that will make you happy? Or are you willing to substitute a less expensive countertop material? You can look back to your pictures to help you think about choices. If you want to stretch your budget, where will you splurge, where will you save? Your designer can present you with options and offer suggestions. Lastly, be sure to think about the accessories that are important to you. Is a towel warmer or a heat lamp a must? Or are you dreaming of radiant flooring or multiple shower heads?
When you have taken the time to answer these seven questions before your bathroom remodel and work with an experienced and qualified remodeler you trust, you will be sure to enjoy the bathroom you dreamed of for many years to come!
